Le voie bleue

Between southern Burgundy and the entrance to the Rhône Valley, the Voie Bleue is one of the most beautiful cycling routes in France. Following the Saône River, it connects Saint-Jean-de-Losne to Lyon through a succession of landscapes, riverside villages, and charming stops. This itinerary is accessible to all, and we have chosen to accompany you by offering a luggage transfer service between stages.

Saint-Jean-de-Losne marks the iconic start of this journey. As a city of waterways, the historic port of Saint-Jean-de-Losne has always been a crossing point. Even today, it is an excellent starting point for exploring Burgundy. 

Throughout the route, the Voie Bleue offers a safe itinerary, mainly on greenways or low-traffic roads. It passes through small, welcoming villages and towns: Seurre, Verdun-sur-le-Doubs, Chalon-sur-Saône, Tournus, Mâcon... There are plenty of opportunities to take a break, sample local produce, visit a small museum, or simply sit by the water.

The Saône River is omnipresent on the circuit, accompanying cyclists like a calm and constant presence. The path allows for a peaceful, pleasant, stress-free journey. Whether traveling solo, as a couple, or with family, pleasure is at the heart of this experience.

We operate between Saint-Jean-de-Losne and Lyon, offering a stage-to-stage luggage transport service. The aim is to travel light. Each morning, you leave your bags at the reception of your accommodation, and we deliver them to the next stage in the afternoon. This convenience allows you to fully enjoy your trip.

Arriving in Lyon via the Voie Bleue is a wonderful way to end your journey. You enter the city via the landscaped quays and cycle paths that still run alongside the Saône. You then reach La Confluence, followed by the city center, where the Voies Lyonnaises take over to continue your adventure on two wheels.
